the details

session flow

Every Sparc session follows a gentle rhythm designed to balance creativity, exploration and connection. While each workshop theme is different, children are given plenty of time to immerse themselves in materials, follow their curiosity and create in ways that feel natural to them.

  • Children arrive, settle in and explore the creative materials and provocations set up around the space.

  • A guided introduction to the day's theme, materials or creative challenge. This is designed to spark ideas and curiosity rather than provide step-by-step instructions.

  • The heart of the session.

Children explore materials, develop ideas, experiment, solve problems and create in ways that feel natural to them. Facilitators offer guidance, prompts and encouragement while supporting each child's individual creative process.

Activities may include painting, printmaking, sculpture, construction, collage, loose parts play and collaborative making.

  • Children take a break to enjoy their packed lunch and connect with friends through free play, conversation in our courtyard or lounge space.

  • We finish by sharing discoveries, celebrating creative risks and helping care for our creative space together before heading home.
