Sparc Artspace is committed to protecting an individual’s personal information by complying with all the sections of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.  

What is personal information? 

Section 6 of the Privacy Act defines ‘personal information’ as ‘information on or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. This might include a person's name and address, medical records, bank account details, photos, videos and even information about what an individual likes, their opinions and where they work. 

At Sparc Artspace, we value the privacy and security of our customers' personal information. This policy outlines our commitment to the responsible collection, storage, and use of customer data to ensure transparency and safeguard confidentiality.

How we collect personal information:

We collect only essential customer information required to provide our services effectively. Information may include names, contact details, birthdates, and preferences. This can be collected when:

  • You register for a class, birthday party, holiday program, private booking is made

  • You register your child in a class, birthday party, holiday program, private booking

  • You participate in a Sparc Artspace event or program 

  • You provide information on to one of our staff 

  • You participate in one of our surveys 

  • You purchase merchandise from us

How we use personal information:

Customer data is used solely for the purpose of delivering our services and enhancing customer experiences. Information is securely stored and protected from unauthorised access. Your personal information may be used in the following ways: 

  • Provide the services and information on you require 

  • Internal accounting and administration 

  • Compliance

Helping us to identify and inform you about products and services that may be of benefit to you. If we send you any information about services or products you do not require, or you do not want us to disclose personal information to any other organisation (including related organisations) you can advise us accordingly by writing to hello@sparcartspace.com.au. If you do not advise us otherwise, you confirm agreement on your own behalf and/or on behalf of others you represent. If you choose not to provide personal information on, we may not be able to provide you with the services you require. 

Storage and security of personal information:

Customers' consent is obtained before collecting their personal information.

Your personal information may be held with Sparc Artspace in both paper file and computer file form. We believe we have implemented measures of a reasonable nature to ensure that all personal information about you is securely stored and safeguarded from misuse, loss and unauthorized handling. All personal information will be disposed of appropriately. Security protocols are regularly reviewed and updated as required.

When we disclose personal information:

Customer data is not shared with third parties without explicit consent, except for legal or regulatory requirements as required or authorised by law. Marketing Communications Opt-out options are provided to unsubscribe from marketing communication at any time. Customer data is retained only for the duration necessary to provide services and fulfil legal obligations. To request deletion of your data, email hello@sparcartspace.com.au with your Instagram handle or email.

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, you can gain access to your personal information by contacting hello@sparcartspace.com.au

Alternatively, you may also advise us at any time about possible breaches of privacy, or inaccurate, incomplete personal information that may have changed. Customers can contact us at any time regarding any concerns about their personal data or our data practices.

Children's data:

Attendees should refrain from editing or altering photos of individuals in a way that could cause harm or discomfort.

Compliance:

We adhere to relevant data protection laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in Australia.
